History of the Grabenhütte
From the hut to the restaurant, all the way to your holiday apartment with dog in-tow
Our Grabenhütte was constructed in 1969 by Matthias and Marianne Schwabl right above Hinterglemm. To start with, it was a small hut with just a couple of rooms for holidaymakers visiting Hinterglemm. In 1972, we extended the restaurant to seat 90 people and completely did away with the guest rooms.
The restaurant in the Grabenhütte has been managed by Mathias Schwabel Jr. since 2002. Together with his family, he has been serving customers for many years with the finest in home made Pinzgauer cuisine.
Our family decided in 2015 to close the restaurant in order to construct a spacious holiday apartment aimed at dog owners. However, families and thrill-seekers who do not have a dog are also more than welcome to use our accommodation in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
By converting the building into a holiday apartment, we intend to give families, groups and couples the chance to bring their trusty four-legged companion along with them on holiday. Enjoy the highlight of your year with man’s best friend in our Grabenhütte holiday apartment in Hinterglemm. Strengthen the bond between you and your animal in the midst of beautiful natural surroundings. Get away from the hustle and bustle of the valley and step into the idyllic mountain landscape of Saalbach-Hinterglemm!
